If you are pregnant we will be meeting Wednesdays 2PM-4PM starting in June at Grace Church (2731 Edgewood St.) in Roanoke to talk about everything from nutrition, to exercise, to parenting, to labor, etc. A nurse-midwife will be available to answer your questions and offer suggestions. Lending library available as well. Please contact us for more information.

SPEAKING ABOUT QUALITY OF LIFE...

Upon reading the report commissioned by the Business Council on Economic Growth in the Roanoke Valley, we researched the cities she compared to Roanoke. Only Roanoke had no midwives practicing in the hospital or birth center setting. Most of the cities had a birth center staffed by midwives within 60 miles (1 hour drive). Several had access to home birth midwives.

Access to midwifery care is important to our quality of life. If we want young professionals to move into our area, we must provide services that they desire. Help us build a midwife/physician collaborative practice and freestanding birth center.
